Lumberjanes Wikia

Mal Yoo[1] is one of the main characters of Lumberjanes. She is the most cautious member of the Roanoke Cabin, excluding the cabin leader, Jen. Mal has many fears, but despite this she very adept at constructing plans and strategies. Unfortunatly these plans are rarely (if ever) carried out to completion. Mal is lesbian, and is dating Molly.

Appearance[]

Mal has jet black hair shaved on one side, tan skin, and is of average height. The number of earrings she wears varies from artist to artist, but she usually has two or three on each ear. She wears a gray denim vest with band patches, a red flannel, ripped jeans, bracelets, and white slip-on trainers. In the Denver comicon exclusive cover, issue 13, she is shown playing guitar.

Personality[]

Mal is the definition of neutral-good. She takes her time to form opinions. Mal gets excited by good ideas and feeds off of Ripley's high energy into forming a well thought-out idea than jumping into action. She is the most innovative and creative, along with being the group's planner.

She plays the guitar and really enjoys music. She also plays roller derby.

Mal, despite her tougher appearance, is the most cautious and sensitive of the group. She specializes in crafting elaborate plans. She is often paranoid about the dangers facing them at the camp, has a fear of rivers, lakes, and other bodies of water, and is watched over and protected by Molly, whom she loves romantically and loves her back. They often hold hands and share panels together as a couple.

Mal also has an obvious crush on Molly, the two met when they bumped into each other on the first day. Now, they hold a happy romantic relationship and are often holding hands or generally together.

Mal is obviously known most for her fear of water and general anxiety of the Roanokes' adventures. She is often cautious of her surroundings and is usually always on high-alert looking for dangers or mythical beings that could jump out at any moment. Due to this habit of hers, she's often worried that she doesn't fit in the group when they're out adventuring and believes that she is the coward of the group, Molly assures that she is not.

In the later issues though, with Molly's help, she can be seen stepping up to the face the dangers ahead, like a true hardcore lady-type!
